Victorian Mod

Inspired by Hydrangea blossoms, Victorian Mod has a very springy feel and started out as a wild abstract painting. Then someone mentioned to me that I should make fabrics like my abstract paintings. It is never easy to put something abstract into repeat but this design just happened to have the right curve of the stem to be a perfect sinuous half drop. Once I saw it in repeat I fell in love and thought of the Victorian wallpapers with the same undulating curve. The large scale of the repeat lets you see all of the abstract details of the dots and brush strokes of the original painting. It is definitely my most complex design yet.
