Elizabeth

The pattern of Elizabeth was inspired from the resurgence of William Morris popularity. There are a lot of details in this pattern. The design is made up of many separate floral motifs that I painted in a large scale and brought together to create Elizabeth, It took a long time to get the repeat just right and at the last minute I added a meandering leaf and berry motif that acts as almost a lace to make the design cohesive. I have many wonderful Elizabeths in my life, my deceased grandmother, my sister and my deceased best friend whom this pattern is named after. The was special and died too young of breast cancer. I wanted her to have a special pattern named after her.
